Nadat Duck gestorven was, wilde ik graag een bruin-witte border collie. Deze heb ik gevonden bij 'It's All Mine' in Keulen. Ik was meteen verliefd op die kleine "George Dickels". George is niet meteen de meest ideale hondennaam, en daarom hebben we hem dan ook snel omgedoopt naar 'Quinn'. Quinn is een droom van een hond... super lief (een echte flets), aandachtig, speels, verdraagzaam, een echte vriend!
We hebben met Quinn eerst gehoorzaamheid getraind en hebben ook samen zijn brevet gehaald. Maar we hadden al snel door dat hij dit eigenlijk niet zo leuk vond. Hij deed alles goed, maar enkel omdat het baasje dit vroeg en niet omdat hij het zelf graag deed. Wij zijn nog altijd van het principe dat zowel het baasje als de hond het graag moet doen dus zijn we gestart met een zoektocht naar Quinn's ideale sport. Lang hebben we niet moeten zoeken want toen Quinn de eerste keer bij de schapen mocht, zagen we meteen dat hij dit SUPER leuk vond. Daarom gaan we dan nu ook twee maal per week schapendrijven met hem!
After Duck died, we loved to have a Red & white border collie. We ended our search with 'It's All Mine' in Köln (Germany). September 20, 2008 we could finally pick up our 'Dikke George' (Fat George). Since we didn't find George that appropriate as a dog name, we named him Quinn. Quinn is a dream of a dog! He is sweet, intelligent, very cute,... the perfect friend!
At first we started obedience with Quinn and we obtained his "brevet". However we soon noticed that he didn't really like obedience. He did it all, but only because we asked him to, not because he liked it. Because we think that both the dog and his boss should love the sport, we started our search for a new hobby. We didn't have to look for it very long, because when Quinn was released with sheep for the first time, it was obvious that this was his sport! So now we are herding sheep with him twice a week!
